VoIP Basics: What Are the Service's Mobility Features?

When skimming over VoIP basics, you might have a feeling of being overwhelmed at the myriad features the service provides. With so many features, some of them may not be noticed enough when companies decide to utilize VoIP into their workplace. Out of all the basic features, some of the very best are the mobility features. The fact that VoIP goes off one network, the abilities of being mobile in your business can increase your efficiency tenfold.

Take a look at the mobile features available that add many layers to when you have to be out in the field.

Find Me Follow Me

The title of this feature describes everything you need to know when you're running a business and can't always be in the office. While VoIP has many excellent features for your in-house staff to use in taking or making calls, the Find Me Follow Me features let you be found when your extension is dialed. You can decide what numbers you want to use. But when someone tries to reach you at your office, the feature will automatically forward the call to your mobile devices wherever you are in the world.

With this feature, you don't have to worry about getting back to someone later because you're out of the office.

Plug in a Phone to the Network While Away from the Office

You can plug in an existing phone to your network and make calls from anywhere. Simply take a physical phone with you and plug it into your network if you have Internet access. This can help you make business calls when on the constant go. Keep in mind, though, that if you're outside the United States or Canada, you'll be charged for long distance when destination is outside of US or Canada. Otherwise, all unlimited VoIP calls made to North America are absolutely free.

Voicemail in Your Email Box

Another mobile convenience is being able to hear your voicemail in your email box rather than having to call in to hear them. Your VoIP system will give you this option in the control panel. Now you can be anywhere in the world and listen to every message you receive so you won't miss a single important business call.

Transferring to Other Phones and Numbers

If you want to use your cell phone, the VoIP system allows you to route calls to it if you want. This can be convenient when you're on the go by foot most of the time. You can also route calls to other, external numbers. You'll find this very convenient when you're at a location where you can't use your cell phone and need to take calls through a specific number.

Here at Infiniwiz, we'll provide all of these mobile features, plus more. Keep in mind, though, it's just a small part of the vast features our VoIP service will provide you and your company.
